Art of Hardin: Over the years I've absorbed influences from book illustrators such as Edward Gorey, Comic-strip and -book artists such as Charles Addams and Mike Mignola, and from painters like Edward Hopper and Emile Bernard. I am fascinated by the storytelling characteristics of art. I'm particularly drawn to the art of the Synthetists of the late 19th century, Cloissonism, and the German Expressionists. I grew up in Canton, NC and received my bachelor’s degree in studio art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
